All-On-4 Dental Implants

all on 4 From not being able to eat certain foods to being self-conscious about the way their smile looks, having missing teeth can largely affect a person’s lifestyle. Luckily, with dental implants, we can help patients restore their confidence, correct these gaps, and help them achieve the smiles they’ve always wanted.

Dr. Louisa Gallegos is a Prosthodontist who is proud to provide the All-On-4 dental implant treatment to patients who have lost most of their teeth. With this treatment, Dr. Gallegos can restore full smiles that are designed to last a lifetime.

What Is All-On-4?

All-On-4 is the name given for the dental procedure that involves “all” teeth being supported on “four” carefully customized dental implants. This procedure is beneficial for patients who are missing most of their teeth or severely decayed teeth due to gum disease or other oral conditions.

How Does All-On-4 Work?

The All-On-4 dental implant technique is designed to pinpoint four major points in the mouth - the upper right and left and the lower right and left - that can support a full set of dental implants. By placing implant screws at these four essential points, the upper and lower sets of teeth will be held in place just as it was a patient’s natural smile.

Who Is a Candidate for All-On-4 Implants?

The ideal candidate for All-On-4 implants is someone who has lost most of their teeth and has realistic expectations of what their new smile will look like. Getting dental implants can involve a prolonged process. From sizing and fitting to the implant procedure and recovery period, the ideal candidate should be able to commit to their dental implant journey. Healthy bone tissue and gums are required for the All-On-4 procedure.

How Long Will My Dental Implants Last?

All-On-4 dental implants are designed to last between 20 - 25 years. However, with a great hygiene routine and regularly scheduled dental visits, it’s expected that most patients can enjoy their newly restored smile for a lifetime.

What Is Recovery Like After an All-On-4 Dental Implant?

Recovery after having your All-On-4 implants placed will involve sticking to a soft food diet for at least two to three months after your procedure to prevent damage to the temporary dentures that are required to be worn as your implants heal. While pain, swelling, and discomfort in the mouth may occur, over-the-counter pain medications should help make recovery easier. Most patients can return to work within three days.
